Cameron at 10 Book Cover Enlarge Book Cover

The compelling, untold and definitive account of the Cameron tenure, gathered from hundreds of interviews in the twilight of the first Conservative term of government for thirteen years.

The general election on 7th May 2015 will be one of the most contested elections for 25 years. The result is wide open: David Cameron has a chance to remain in office, but he also faces enormous challenges to convince the country that he deserves another term in office. Whatever the outcome, scrutiny of his government – the first Coalition in 80 years – is only set to intensify.

David Cameron’s mixed premiership form a story of promise, missed opportunities and moments of political courage. With the full co-operation from the Prime Minister and his Chief of Staff, Ed Llewellyn, senior civil servants, the Cabinet Secretary and the Prime Minister’s Principal Private Secretary, Anthony Seldon and Peter Snowdon have compiled an authoritative work of fascinating contemporary history.

Rigorously fair and independent, ‘Cameron at 10’ captures the high drama of life at the heart of government between 2010 and 2015, giving readers an unvarnished account of the inner workings of Number 10 in its relations with the George Osborne and Nick Clegg downwards, and the inside story of the Referendum on Scottish independence, the phone hacking scandal and the challenges of Islamic State. Bring to life the raw experience of the most turbulent and febrile period of British political life since the 1930s, this will be a personal and revelatory account of what really happens at the heart of government.
