ESI EDUGYAN’S WASHINGTON BLACK SHORTLISTED FOR THE SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE

HarperCollins Canada is pleased to announce that Esi Edugyan’s instant national bestselling novel, Washington Black has been shortlisted for the 2018 Scotiabank Giller Prize. Washington Black is also a finalist for the 2018 Man Booker Prize, the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, and has received widespread acclaim from publications such as The New York Times, Seattle Times, The Toronto Star, The Boston Globe and more. Edugyan’s 2011 novel Half-Blood Blues previously won the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and was a finalist for the Governor General’s Award, the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Man Booker Prize, and the Orange Prize.

Released by HarperCollins Canada’s Patrick Crean Editions on September 4th, 2018, editor Patrick Crean stated of the nomination, “we are absolutely thrilled for Esi.
