I had the idea for <i>The Fairy of Gossamer River</i> when I lived near the canal in Oxford. I was amazed by how beautiful it was, how much wildlife it supported, and how much enjoyment people got from the stretch of water. Finding out that sewage was being dumped in the river inspired a story about someone putting a stop to it!
