Jennifer McKinlay Books & Biography
I can't remember a time in my life when I didn't want to be a writer. When I was a kid, I used to type my own newspaper on my mother's manual typewriter and sell it to her for a quarter. I spent ten years as a part-time librarian, a book lover's profession. I wrote book reviews and press releases, but not much else. In 1997, I promised myself that if I didn't sell anything by the time I was thirty, I was going to quit writing and get a real job. That was the same year I turned thirty and won Harlequin's Love and Laughter contest. Now I knew I couldn't quit writing and that comedy was the niche for me. In March of 2001, I sold my first novel TO CATCH A LATTE to Harlequin Duets.
