Jordi Sierra i Fabra nació en Barcelona en 1947. Publicó su primer libro en 1972, ha escrito más de cuatrocientas obras y ha ganado casi 40 premios literarios a ambos lados del Atlántico. En los años 2006 y 2010 fue candidato por España al considerado el Nobel de literatura juvenil, el premio Andersen, en 2007 recibió el Premio Nacional de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil del Ministerio de Cultura y en 2013 el Iberoamericano por el conjunto de su obra. Las ventas de sus libros superaron los doce millones de ejemplares en 2017. Jordi Sierra i Fabra was born in Barcelona in 1947. He published his first book in 1972, has written more than four hundred works and has won almost 40 literary prizes on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2006 and 2010 he was nominated by Spain for the Nobel prize for juvenile literature, the Andersen prize, in 2007 he received the National Prize for Literature from the Ministry of Culture and in 2013 the Ibero-American for the whole of his work. The sales of his books exceeded eleven million copies in 2015. In 2004 he created the Fundation Jordi Sierra i Fabra, in Barcelona, ??and the Taller de Letras Jordi Sierra i Fabra Foundation in Medellin, Colombia, as the culmination of a whole career and its ethical and social commitment. Since then, the prize that bears his name is awarded to a young writer under the age of eighteen. In 2010, its foundations received the IBBY-Asahi Prize for Reading Promotion. In 2012 the literary magazine on line, free, www.lapaginaescrita.com was inaugurated and in 2013 the Cultural Center of the Foundation in Barcelona, ??Medal of Honor of the city in 2015.
