Alice Alexiou holds a Master's in journalism from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in classics from Fordham University. She lives on Long Island, where she has written for several publications, including The New York Times and Newsday, and is an editor of Lilith magazine, an independent magazine for Jewish women.
