JAMES MEEK is a prize-winning novelist and reporter. He is the author of three acclaimed novels, The People’s Act of Love, Drivetime and MacFarlane Boils the Sea, and two short story collections, Last Orders and The Museum of Doubt. Shortly after 9/11 he was sent to report on the war in Afghanistan by The Guardian newspaper of London and followed the campaign to the liberation of Kabul and beyond. In 2004 he was named Foreign Correspondent and Amnesty Journalist of the Year for his reporting from Iraq and about Guantánamo Bay. James Meek lives in London.
