MARILYNNE ROBINSON is the author of the modern classic Housekeeping—winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize—and of the Pulitzer Prize– and National Book Critics Circle Award–winning Gilead. She is also the author of two books of non-fiction, Mother Country and The Death of Adam. Robinson teaches at the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
